Introduced in 1977, Rainier Daumiller's simply drawn dining chair is a robust, sturdy testament to the German-born designer's lifelong love of the natural world. An early voice for sustainability, his signature piece countered the era's furniture dominated by teak and rosewood with an understanding of the need to carefully manage rainforests. Made of sustainable solid pine just like his original pieces by Hirtshals Sawmill in Denmark, the seat and backrest are ergonomically contoured to cradle the body for lasting comfort.
